Security and screening

1800 Bali Nanny is an Australia and New Zealand–based referral service connecting families with independent nanny contractors in Bali. We do not take ownership of the contracted nannies and when they are not working with 1800-bali-nanny, they are free to be freelance nannies or work for other agencies. All carers operate as independent contractors although they must uphold and maintain compliance documents to stay in the 1800-bali-nanny platform.

We support families through a structured matching and referral process managed from Australia and coordinated locally in Bali.

Identity verification

All nannies referred through our service are required to provide valid government-issued identification. This is sighted and verified by our local coordinator before they are included in our referral network.

Only individuals with confirmed identity are accepted for referral.

Reference checks

We require verifiable childcare references as part of our screening process.

At minimum, references are used to confirm:

• previous childcare experience

• reliability and conduct in prior roles

• suitability for working with children in a family environment

Where references cannot be verified, the individual is not referred.

Experience requirements

All nannies must have a minimum 5 years prior experience working with children. This may include:

• private family childcare

• hotel or villa babysitting

• early childhood or community care roles

Experience level is assessed prior to referral so families can be matched appropriately.

Training and qualifications

These are a non negotiable to be contracted through 1800-bali-nanny:

• first aid certification

• CPR training

• water safety and swimming supervision skills

• minimum 5 years experience supporting children.

Contractor model

All nannies introduced through 1800 Bali Nanny operate as independent contractors. This is to ensure that they are able to work freely and make extra income for their families when not contracted with 1800-bali-nanny.  When they are contracted in a 1800-bali-nanny shift they are required to uphold the morals and values of our platform.

Our role is to:

• screen and refer suitable candidates

• assist with matching based on family requirements

• support communication where needed during the placement process

• Vet certifications of nannies

Replacement support

If a nanny is not suitable, we will assist the family in identifying an alternative contractor where possible.

Support may include:

• discussion to clarify expectations

• referral of an alternative nanny

• reassessment of family requirements to improve matching

We aim to minimise disruption and maintain continuity of care.

Feedback and escalation

Families are encouraged to contact us directly with any concerns during the referral period.

All matters are handled by our Australian team in coordination with our local Bali coordinator. We will:

• acknowledge concerns promptly

• review the situation with relevant parties

• support a practical resolution where possible
